poem1.jpg (8348 bytes)     Jinyong is one of the greatest and most well known contemporary Chinese authors. Jinyong are also the founder of Ming Pao one of the most popular daily newspapers in Hong Kong. His editorials and novels used to appear everyday in the newspaper. During Ming Pao's early days, a lot of people just bought the newspaper to read his editorials and novels. He wrote a total of fourteen major novels, one minor short story, and a few "articles" like the "33 Stories" from the 1950's to 1970's. They are all Wu Xia Xiao Shuo (martial-arts novels) that took place in ancient China. From the 1970's to 1980's he revised his Wuxia novels. His novels are so popular in the Chinese environment that another famous Chinese author once said that:

           "Wherever there are Chinese, there are Jinyong's novels."

Jinyong's real name is Louis Cha (Cha Liang Yong). Besides his novels, he is also famous for writing editorials on politics.
